If a workmanship defect results in a roof leak or failure, we inspect the affected area and, once we confirm the defect is covered, repair the defective workmanship at no labor charge.
We are publishing the exclusions too, because a warranty you only read after a leak is not a warranty, it is a sales line.
What it does not cover
- Manufacturer defects or failure of the roofing materials themselves
- Storm damage, including hail, wind, tornadoes, lightning or falling objects
- Damage caused by animals, pests, trees, foot traffic, abuse or neglect
- Structural movement, settling, improper ventilation, condensation, or moisture originating inside the property
- Alterations or repairs made by anyone other than CRE Roofing
- Gutters, siding, skylights, solar panels, antennas, satellite equipment, HVAC equipment and similar components, unless the contract specifically includes them
- Leaks or damage originating outside the roofing system we installed
- Cosmetic conditions that do not affect the roof's ability to shed water
- Failure to provide reasonable maintenance or to report a suspected problem promptly
The terms, stated plainly
This is a limited workmanship warranty, not a guarantee against every possible roof leak or failure. Manufacturer warranties covering the materials remain subject to the manufacturer's terms. The warranty applies only to work for which CRE Roofing has been paid in full. It is issued to the original property owner and is non-transferable unless we approve the transfer in writing. Warranty service must be requested promptly after the issue is discovered, and we must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and perform any covered repairs. Our responsibility is limited to repairing the portion of our workmanship determined to be defective. Consequential and incidental damages are excluded to the extent the law allows.

What is not covered?
Manufacturer defects and material failure, storm damage of any kind including hail and wind, damage from animals, pests, trees, foot traffic, abuse or neglect, structural movement, settling, improper ventilation, condensation or moisture originating inside the property, alterations or repairs made by anyone other than CRE Roofing, and components like gutters, siding, skylights, antennas or HVAC equipment unless the contract specifically includes them. Is it transferable if I sell the house?
It is issued to the original property owner and is not transferable unless we approve the transfer in writing.
What do I have to do to keep it valid?
Provide reasonable maintenance, report a suspected problem promptly rather than after the damage spreads, and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and perform any covered repair. The warranty applies to work we have been paid in full for.
How is this different from a manufacturer warranty?
A manufacturer warranty covers the shingles themselves and is governed by the manufacturer's own terms. Ours covers the installation. Most roof failures are installation failures, which is why this is the one that usually matters - and why it is only worth something from a company that will still be here.
